We have just marked teachers day and i was terribly disappointed with the level of

corporate support. Compare farmers day support. People want the best of things for their

kids but they forget that teachers like other professionals work better when properly motivated.

The United Nations and other pressure groups through various campaigns have advocated free compulsory education and that has directly affected the image of teaching.

Poor salary galore the world over. Some even think the job can be done by untrained [personnel who

even produce better exam results.

     I think that the industry should be wholly privatized so that the end user will pay economic rates to access education. That being the case the world will begin to give the desired respect and honour to beducation
